Nestled on the banks of the Svrljiški Timok river lies the medicinal water oasis: Rgoška Banjica. Thanks to the thermal-mineral water springs, a small natural lake has formed, making Rgoška Banja a popular destination, both for recreational activities and its healing properties. The water temperature remains constant at around 28°C. Analyses have shown that the water is exceptionally beneficial and invigorating, containing magnesium, selenium, manganese, radon, fluoride, among other minerals.
Rgoste Spa has been known since ancient times. The healing properties of the springs at Banjica were documented as far back as 1864 by the Austrian traveler Felix Kanic.
In addition to the healing spring, this favorite picnic spot for the residents of Knjaževac and their guests includes a paved beach, a park with playground equipment for children, ample parking space, and a modern restaurant.
The sports and recreational complex Banjica is supplied with water from the thermal spring and consists of an Olympic-sized swimming pool with a water temperature of around 28°C, a children's mini aqua park, mini sports courts, a restaurant, sauna, and a salt room.
