Today, the museum comprises departments of archaeology, history, art history, and ethnology, which have permanent exhibition setups in the museum building, Radul-beg's Konak, and the Museum of the Timok Region in Boljevac. Since 1996, the museum also has a separate documentation department. Within the National Museum of Zaječar, you'll find the following facilities:
